FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding eligible private nonprofit (PNP) organizations in 29 Kentucky counties of the Dec. 4, 2025 deadline to apply for low interest federal disaster loans to offset losses caused by severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides in February of this year.
Gov. Mike Dunleavy signed an extension of the state’s disaster declaration on Saturday to continue emergency response and recovery efforts following the Western Alaska storms, including the remnants of Typhoon Halong.
Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will be open starting November 10 in Cape Girardeau, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Scott, Shannon, and Washington counties to assist Missourians who sustained damage to their primary residence or personal property due to the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred March 30 – April 8, 2025.
Washington County residents affected by the March and April severe storms can visit Potosi City Hall this week or apply online for federal assistance.
The funding will be used to make temporary repairs to infrastructure or utilities and staffing emergency operations
The state says nearly 800 housing units or families were assisted by the funding after more than 5,000 homes were impacted by natural disasters in 2024
